Going by the names of Mr Laet, a London based graffiti artist, Jyst an independent graphic designer, and Bas from the DAC graffiti crew in Bulgaria. They will bring their own unique style as individual graffiti artists, creating a stunning graphic piece combining their three different influences. See their final work on display for all, if you can find out where it is There’s nothing fishy about the work to be produced, however inspiration will naturally be taken from the venues long history in salmon smoking, its location being Foreman’s Fish Island, and its menu being right by the river Lea. The ‘Ocean fresh’ theme incorporates elements of the salmon within a graffiti context. Fish is defiantly on the menu! This is a chance for people to see how graffiti can mix
with and rival any art form, enhancing spaces and walls inside and out,
on spec and spontaneously. For more information email: dward_kearton@hotmail.co.uk |

15. TangentProjects presents The Trash Vortex Curated by Steve Smith Artists: Karen Ay In the central areas of the Pacific sea circulating currents deposit and contain an increasing collection of sea-bound detritus, a massive floating island of discarded plastic collects in the eye of these currents, this phenomenon is known as “The Trash Vortex”. It is from ripples of insignificant and complacent individual actions to its eventual collective global significance during the Hackney Wicked Festival and across Hackney Wick that the artists in the exhibition “The Trash Vortex” explore where the insignificant, throwaway and complacent may be foretell massive events and actions. Ripples become currents and currents have the power to drag the small and insignificant into their orbit and create a mass of great power and significance. Where: Outside locations across both Hackney Wick & Fish Island. HACKNEY COLOURED FISH See Friday lising for details. |
